Diet

There are many diets you can follow and FRANK WÖCKEL has himself tried out a number of them, e.g., whole-food diet, macrobiotics, Mazdaznan diet, vegetarian diet according to BRUCKER, KOLLAT et al.

A vegetarian diet of raw fruit and vegetables has proved to be the best one. There are also many different variations, such as FRANZ KONZ'S primal food: Der große Gesundheit-Konz (The Health Bible by Konz), HARVEY UND MARYLIN DIAMOND'S sunfood diet: Fit for Life, EHRET'S Die schleimfreie Heilkost (The Mucousless Healing Diet), HELMUT WANDMAKER'S Willst Du gesund sein, vergiß den Kochtopf (If You Want to Be Healthy, Forget About the Cooking Pots!) and the ovo-lactarian vegetarian raw food diet (consisting of raw fruit, vegetables, corn, honey, eggs and dairy products), for example, as presented by REINHOLD SCHWEIKERT in his Rohkost Praktikabel (Practicable Raw Eating).

In the various raw food diets there are differences of opinion about details, such as, for example, eating wild herbs, drinking water, eating seaweed, salt, using raw milk products, etc.

After having tried these various raw food diets, I can state the following as a general summary with no claim to being universally valid:

1. Air is the most important nutrient. Clean air is fundamental for your well-being and health. The most harmful thing in everyday life is air polluted by cigarette smoke. Perfumes and all kinds of artificial scents as well joss sticks (incense) are also unhealthy and should be avoided as much as possible.

2. You should drink water every day, ideally pure spring water or well-filtered tap water. The amount depends on your individual requirements. It has been proven in practice that it is best to drink only water after getting up and have your first meal a few hours later. You can add 1 to 2 teaspoonfuls of crystal salt brine (on no account ordinary table salt) to your water.

3. The proportion of fruit in your diet should not be too high, it is better to eat more vegetables and especially wild herbs.

4. High-quality algae are also a good addition to your diet.

5. Raw goat and sheep milk and raw-milk cheese and fresh cheese produced from these as well as fresh raw milk whey can be very valuable both in the short and long term. The exclusively vegan diet of raw fruit and vegetables, i.e. without dairy products, cannot be sustained for long in our modern civilisation, or at least not if your wild herb intake is insufficient. Raw eggs are also acceptable from time to time.

6. Raw meat consumption, as practised by the so-called 'instinctos' (Guy-Claude Burger: Die Rohkosttherapie [Raw Food Therapy]), is not advisable.

7. Cold-pressed oils (native) are a good addition to vegetable salads.

8. Sprouts or seeds are yet another excellent addition to vegetable salads.

9. Wild herbs should be eaten unwashed. Wild animals eat them like that and they do not suffer from most of our civilisation-related diseases.

10. Children should be breastfed for as long as possible, several years at best or as long as they need.
